Welcome
Madison Cares brings Shoreline residents together to sponsor Habitat for Humanity projects in New Haven, making us the first town in Connecticut to do so!

Tickets on sale!

Madison's own Kailin Garrity (left) will once again headline Madison Cares' annual "Build This House" concert. Joining Kailin will be October Moon and Daniel Hand's "Encore."

This year's concert will take place May 31 at 7:30 p.m. and Andrews' Memorial Town Hall, Clinton.

Tickets can be purchased at R. J. Julia Booksellers, or by calling (203) 245-9682. Tickets will also be sold at the door.

A limited number of "Patron" tickets, which include a post-concert reception with the artists, will be offered.

Join us to help the Gulf Coast again this year

You are invited to join Madison Cares on our second national trip!

Approximately 90 percent of the buildings in Biloxi, Mississippi and the Gulfport coast, were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, and there are still approximately 17,000 families living in FEMA trailers. Due to the great need that still exists in areas impacted by Hurricane Katrina, many Madison Cares members have expressed an interest in returning for Trip II.

When: October 13-18, 2008

Where: Biloxi, Mississippi

Cost: Only $100 plus airfare and local travel! Why so cheap? All lodging is provided by a local Habitat affiliate in Biloxi. The Salvation Army provides three meals a day to volunteers staying at the village - a hot breakfast and dinner as well as bagged lunch to take to the job site. Water and snacks are also provided.

Who can go: Anyone 18 and older

The group is now forming. If interested, send a message to:

Elaine Romano, National & International Initiatives Committee Chair, or...

Maureen Lopes, Trip Team Leader

For those ready to register, visit the link to the online registration form and download instructions on registering. Lodging in the Habitat Village fills up quickly, so you will need to register soon to reserve your spot.

Invite your friends and family. Take a trip with your spouse. See if your neighbor wants to go. But most importantly, get ready for a truly rewarding experience...

Madison Cares members joined Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven to break ground on its fourth
collaborative build November 11.

Ground broken for our fourth New Haven build
Madison Cares has broken ground on its fourth build - a renovation located on 18 Shepard Street in New Haven. "We are very excited to be sponsoring and working on another home renovation project," said Madison Cares President Christopher Stemen. "Build II was very similar and our volunteers really enjoyed it. It's rewarding to turn a run-down structure into a simple and beautiful home." Volunteer coordinators Nancy Leckerling and Sandy Callinan are organizing community groups and individuals to work at the site. Send them a message if you are interested in helping. Check our Current Build page for volunteer schedules, directions and more photos.
